At the end of the day, more time is spent studying in Virtual FlashCards than anything else.  Therefore a strong balance between power and ease of use is very important.  The Study screen is split into three main sections.

The first spans the right side and the top.  This is where you actually test your knowledge.  Given a question on the left card, you must answer it on the right.  In the example shown above, simply clicking on California is enough.  In text answers, you check your answer by either clicking the "Check Answer" eraser on the top-right, or by pressing Return.  The question and the correct answer are shown on the right, so you can verify you got it correct.  By default, a sound will play as well.

On the left clipboard are several options.  "Punish When Wrong" forces you to get over 50% correct on the card, as opposed to only needing the correct answer once.  "Side Selection" determines which side of the FlashCard you will see.  "Ignore All Spaces" means that "Flash Cards" and "FlashCards" are treated the same.  You can also press the "Select Cards Manually" button to choose which cards you want to study.

In the center are statistics, where you can see a brief rundown on how you are doing.  More in-depth statistics will be visible once you finish studying.  For more information on that, see the section on Statistics
